Rubén Acuña González appointed Principal Timpanist with Symphony in C

CAMDEN, NJ – September 15, 2025 – Percussionist Rubén Acuña González has been appointed Principal Timpanist with the Symphony in C orchestra for the 2025-2026 season. This significant appointment places him in a key leadership position with the Mid-Atlantic Region’s Young Professionals Orchestra, one of America’s most distinguished professional pathway orchestras.

Symphony in C, under the baton of Music Director Noam Aviel, is widely celebrated as a premier training ground for the next generation of orchestral musicians. Its alumni frequently go on to secure positions in top-tier ensembles worldwide, including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra is renowned for its vibrant performances and its commitment to artistic excellence.
